I have Debian installed on hdb2(swap) and hdb3(/),
hdb1 is a small vfat partation. hda is exclusssively
vfat wind98 programs. When I did the install of Debian
I mounted hda in /Fat-c and hdb1 in /Fat-d. I
attempted to put them in the /mount directory, one
would go there but the other would not...
Thanks for being the focus point I figured out this
problem.. the /etc/fstab had hda1 and hdb1 listed as
msdos instead of vfat.

How do I change the current default Window Manager
(ICE WIN) I think to Black Box or something other than
what it is. If I select Black Box, or any other

to that, but then when I exit and do a startx the

Last night after reading this thread I went and did a
apt-get of xmms and it was like falling off a log. As
root I cd to /usr/local did the apt-get and within 4
minutes I was playing mp3's on my system no pain, no
extra files to get nutting.

There is a way to fix you unresolved symbols problem
but if you truly have a winmodem made by Lucent then
you want to go to this url and it will lead you to
where you can download a .deb driver for your kernel.

If you open lilo.conf on the box that will not go to
sleep you will see a line in there called append=""
make it look like this append="apm=on" and then in the
terminal type lilo and that will make the change take
effect. The wake on lan pc will then shut down after
you tell it to.

I had the same problem... there is a line in
lilo.conf that says # APPEND="" sorry not sure about
the = after it. If you change it to APPEND="apm=on"
save it then you need to type lilo so that lilo.conf
will update. Remember to remove the # and the space
before APPEND.

it fairly well. 2.2r2 is the Version called Potato,
and 2.2r3 is the updated Potato. Woody is the next
version on the Table but is considered stable, but not
