I've downloaded Akshar.ttf (unicode hindi font) and want to install it
'system-wide', i.e. all applications installed on the system should be
able to use it.

We have a server running ntpd, using pool.ntp.org as time server.
On Sunday, an unusually large time correction caused ntpd to stop.
Could this be a glitch with pool.ntp.org? The other strange thing is

i use both
dd_rescue and dd_rescue_help (find them via google). dd_rescue help helps
skip all over the disk which is amazing.
I try not to use maxtor - i have switched to western digital after too many
crashes.

I have been using debian for quite some time now, how ever I have
watched several distrobutions implentating so many great ideas, and I
have been wondering why such a robust distorbution as debian
GNU/Linux(*) hasn't done this. One of them is:

I completely trashed Windows from my system and my kid has been
pestering me for the Road Rash game. :-)
It's a Bike Came for Windows. Anyone knows of an equivalent type of
game on Debian?
