I just build something with -m486 but I don't see it back in readelf -h or

You won't have to recompile your kernel. Just go to your /usr/src/
direcory and read the instructions contained in the 3dfx-source tarball.

be burn with the CDRWIN programm under windows. Does anybody know how I
can burn them under Linux? Or is this a proprietary format thats only

/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc file, at the bottom it will have the stuff about

.cue just tells the programme what to burn where. The .bin file is the
CD and you can write that using most CD writing software, read the .cue
file (it is a simple text file) to see if there are any odd settings.

running. Are you using modules?? If so, try loading it before you try and
mount the partition.

I had a machine with this card as well. At the time I looked, the
documentation on xfree86.org said that this card is supported in the
developement version of X 4.?.?, but not currently supported in the
official release, but will be in the next official release.

play OS" in your BIOS. This caused a major headache for me with another
card. Also, the ethernet howto may be helpful as well as looking at the

I use pptp for my adsl connection which goes through a vpn. As far as I
know there is no pptp package for potato, so I downloaded the source and
patched it with a woody patch.

I Wonder if someone can help me with an unusual problem. I have
a sb32 (pnp pci) sound card, it works great. I simply loaded:

i haven't installed it yet myself, but samba seems like the way to go for
inter-OS networking (file and print sharing). once it's in, it'll show up
in network neighborhood, and connecting is pretty easy.
i'm working on doing the same in my office, so if you do something that
works, please share!

i had a similar problem (back when i had X installed) - to get to the
windows environment, just press alt+F7 to get to the virtual terminal (it
may be ctrl+alt+F7, i'm telnetting on a windows machine right now and
can't check - sorry).
