I have a 20 Gb HD. The BIOS has detected it since I installed it from the first time. When (for some reason) I removed ATA-2 IDE support from the kernel, the system crashed at startup. So I put back ATA-2, and it worked fine. I though ATA-2 was for IDE HDs larger than 8 Gb.
