in the office using ssh. However, it seems that cvs isn't willing to
launch ssh even tough it's installed and correctly configured to work.

I uncommented the debug line in /etc/init.d/rc and noticed that
all scrips in rc6.d / rc0.d were called with "stop" on shutdown
_regardless of prefix_. Now I'm totally confused.

The Packages.gz you mention just contains a text list of the programs
that
are available in the main directory of the CD or whatever. If you're using
a CD you should have a Packages file, not compressed. It has the same info
as Packages.gz

set of programs for your work in RH, and progressively use more Debian...

I can't say if the A7V and its ata77 controler is supported, because I don't
have one. But maybe the fist thing to ask you is are using the special
floppies for ata66 systems? Check in the disks-i386 directory for them.

netscape complaining about not being able to convert string to "true" to
