Well, the HD speed went from 3 MB to 22 MB.
This is still a long way from 66. Is this normal? (I here 66 is almost

since a couple of days GDM is no more working fine on woody...
it starts, you can enter user/pass and then it seems to die and restart
again asking user/pass... anyone know how to fix it?

yes all the other things seems to work fine. I tryed nearly all the
services running on those boxes and I think is not an authentication
problem... seems like gdm is no more able to startx.

I just installed debian (totato) from FTP. I have a minimal instalation
with BIND and IMAP. Well, i removed exim and installed qmail.
My question is: im new with debian, and other distributions start in
the runlevel 3. Why does this one run in the rinlevel 2 by default?

I have learned that many CDRW will not read in cdroms. I have 2 boxes,
one with older cdrom and one with new 32x cdrom - both windoz boxes,
neither would see the CDRW disk. It would appear that CDRW are not
globablly readable which can be a real bother.
