I have the following problem:
installed perl5.8.3 manually to upgrade perl5.8.2 and everything was ok
with dselect
dpkg -i perl*.deb (5.8.3)
then for some reason I put
apt-get -f install
and then dselect.
Now when I try to install a new package with dselect or apt-get install ,

I have the same problem. I made a standard install, added and removed a few
items using apt-get, nothing big,a nd suddenly when I look at deselect it
