Erm, doesn't that tell udev to alias any device which would
appear as ttyUSB* (i.e., ttyUSB1,
S{idProduct}=="2303", NAME="myGPS"' and
then restarting udev and and reconfiguring gpsd and restarting and
unplugging and replugging the GPS back in to the system.
At the moment it looks to be all working as meant to :-)

full-featured GIS suite that appears to be extensible enough to suit
most needs. It's in the repositories, and if you google it you'll find
the website with documentation and links to sources of Free GIS data.
