Hi,
exactly what I was looking for. Not that easy to find on a 8,5"
(something like that) screen on an aspire one where a couple of
options are missing.
If you ever come to vienna, AT. I'll get you a drink of your choice :)
thanks

Not sure if you tried this already but you could try changing a setting
under System >> Admin >> Login window:
Select "Local" tab and then "Show actions menu" under the menu bar.
This changes the options available under the System menu.

I figured out the source of the problem...My iptables script in /etc/rcS.d/ is
messing up everything! I have S40 as Networking and S41 as iptables, what is a
better way to do this? Or at least an alternative that won't mess everything up.

Update: I can no longer use the gdmflexiserver command to run multiple X
sessions. I am thinking this is a problem with the recent X upgrade in Debian
Etch. I get this error when I try to run gdmflexiserver
"Cannot start new display

After yesterday's xorg/x11 upgrade I am no longer able to log out of GNOME
using the logout button. If I want to switch sessions/users I have to restart X
with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? I wonder if I'm the only
one having this problem after the oth

I just hate absolutely any non-kernelspace daemon that is not invoked

Hi debian people,
I'm wondering if someone can help me.
I just did a system upgrade and now Gnome hangs when I try to logout.
My initial configuration was "unstable", last upgraded a few months ago.
Here is what I remember changing, from memory.
- apt-get dist-upgrade(to testing)
- apt-get i

I can't find why the logout dialog box (debian unstable) doesn't propose me

Below are my motivations for bringing this issue up:
- The intended use of the computers are for desktop applications.
- I don't want to give the root password away to other users on my
machines, in this case my family members.
