if I try to run "startx&" from inside subshell created by the "script"
command?
Why is that? (Is something about the subshell necessarily different
such that startx can't run? Or is startx confus

After doing a "general" update using dselect, only the root user has
access to the X server. Any other user running "startx" receives the
