It was the kernel. I'm running 2.4.1 now and that fixed it. After I got the system into a known working state (by re-installing from the unofficial Woody CDs) I built a new kernel. I figured out that I have a problem with building 2.2.18pre21 now; I used to be able to build it but no longer

Maybe my net troubles were related to the kernel compile. I booted with the Linux install disk, opened up a shell, and manually mounted my Linux root filesystem. I then created a directory called "old" and moved everything into it. There were no other files or directories starting with 'o' so it

My computer has Woody installed and I update it every few weeks to the latest in unstable. Right now its mouse and networking are dead and I need help. I had it set up and working great. The mouse worked, and the Internet worked. It booted to gdm and I had great fun in GNOME, surfing with Mozil
