Hi
Why don't you just add the following line in your
/etc/X11/WindowMaker/menu.hook
under editors menu:
"OpenOffice" EXEC ~/OpenOffice.org1.0/soffice
and start it from there?
Work's fine

Hi there,
I installed OpenOffice on my desktop. I downloaded the tarball, I didn't use the
apt-getable package (I tried, it didn't work...).
After I installed it, my menu in WindowMaker doesn't include OpenOffice in the submenu
Apps (eventhough I apt-getted install menu). So I tried to add it w

Hi all,
I'm running unstable with the 2.4.19 kernel using
Window Maker.
I've installed the mplayer-686.deb and when I select
the Mplayer from the menu is does not open. If I open
a terminal and type mplayer in the terminal Mplayer
will open. I have looked at

Alternately, you can edit ~/GNUstep/Defaults/WMRootMenu to contain
"/etc/X11/WindowMaker/menu.hook"
instead of just
menu.hook
and then use wmakerconf (or, I assume, WPrefs) to suck the D

Hi,
Debian actually has a great menu-handling system, conveniently named
'menu.' With menu your menus are consistent between wm's (windowmaker,
blackbox, sawfish, etc). Try reading the docs in /usr/doc/menu, and
here's something that might help too:
/etc/menu/green_ate
r menu is great though, so you should check it out.

Default menus in Debian are handled by the automatic menu system ... e.g.,
Xemacs "registers" with the menu system when it is installed (and

I was messing around with wmakerconf and when I clicked on the menu tab
it asked me if I wanted to convert my current menu, and I said yes. So
it tried, and came up with an error, and next thing I knew my menu was
gone. I was able to put most of it back manually by including the
debian menu, but

Anyone know how to get something like,
"xterm -bg black -cr green -fg white &"
to be the command that gets spawned from WindowMaker's XShells->Xterm, instead
