Ryan,
Look for the line
Driver "mga"
in the
Section "Device" .
I commented this line out to get it working. Since it now works that way,
I haven't looked into the cause of the problem.
Am sending the entire XF86Config file separately.

this is from potato but slink also have xserver-svga. If you want to use a
newer one just download server binaries from ftp.xfree86.org and replease with
the one in /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA, after you install the package.

The name of the debian SVGA Xfree86 X Server package is
xserver-svga_3.3.2.3a-11.deb.
It is part of slink r4. You'll of course need other packages as well: fonts,
Xbase, etc. Dependencies should take care of that though.

mg200 AGP is supported by xf86. Use SVGA server, and XF86Setup or xf86config to
set it up.

Not yet. Xi Graphics do have an X server, but i
You need to upgrade to the xserver-svga 3.3.1 that's in hamm in order
to use the Matrox Millennium II effectively. Even after that you
should probably upgrade manually to 3.3.2 that you can get from
ftp.xfree86.org. All that needs to be replaced is the one XF86_SVGA
server file.

As far as I know the Millenium II also works with MetroX, and yet again it is
not free but it is a good package, and ver

Hi,
I had problems with the Millenium II driver from XSuSE. The backspace
key worked at the bash prompt, but not in vim. I use a version I
downloaded from xfree86. I untarred it to a temp directory and copied
the new XF86_SVGA file to /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA after moving the
old version. The
I have a Matrox Millenium II PCI with 4 MB WRAM. One of the best
resource for information on how to upgrade and configure XFree86 for
the Millenium II is the Web site for the XFree86 Matrox Team at
http://matrox.alloy.net. I got it working with the Matrox Team's
download and installation instructio
I think Xinside Accelerated X 4.1 supports the Matrox Series. I thikn it is
overall better than XFree86 since most of the drivers are optimized for the
specific cards.
check it out youreself www.xinside.com
The package doesn't come free though. It cost $100 but I think it is well
worth it.

Make sure you are using at least XFree 3.2.this should all be set-up

mga2064, but the SVGA server will detect it automatically.
There are two things you might want to do. First check
http://www.bf.rmit.edu.au/~ajv/xf86-matrox.html for the info about XFree86
Matrox server. This info is made by the authors of the Matrox code in
XF86_SVGA server.
The second is that you should try XF86Setup which comes with the xserver-vga1

AFAIK the current XFree has a server for the
