Somebody suggested to me to use:
LANG=C
LC_CTYPE=hu_HU
and it seems to work.
I guess the ctype sets the display charset and the
land the application language. Try cetting ctype to
de_DE...

If you run 'dpkg-reconfigure locales' you can install and set default the
different locales available. -mk
