Hello!! I have a HP DeskJet printer, and of course I habe the magicfilter instaled, so it works perfectly whit Debian. The problen is that I want to share it with some windows PC, I have the Samba instaled. If I export the printer and use the HP driver on the Windos PCs and print

I've had this problem for a long time and I'm tired of it. ;-) I've found this bug report: which describes my problem. Basically printing from win95 to my Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 system via samba, using AdobePS 4 software "AdobePSDefaultPostScriptPrint"

I had a similar problem. I ended up compiling gs6.0 and gv ("unstable" system), and editing the magic filter for the postscript lines. I'm not sure I did the right thing, but with the changes I did, it worked. I tried this: change the filter in /etc/magicfilter/(whatever) for the postscript li

Still fairly new on Linux, I installed a NEC P6 printer on my Debian Linux machine. Then I used the magicfilterconfig program to install this printer. The printer works fine using: lpr (filename); if the file is a postscript file I get only the description of the postscript as a ASCII but no Post

There is a new Tektronix 140A available that has PostScript built in. Maybe this is a dumb question, but does it still need a driver? I guess I'm not too familiar with the difference between a 'driver' and a 'filter'. I thought that the filter converted the image to be printed from a Postscript
