There is a new Tektronix 140A available that has PostScript built in. Maybe this is a dumb question, but does it still need a driver? I guess I'm not too familiar with the difference between a 'driver' and a 'filter'.
I thought that the filter converted the image to be printed from a Postscript format to one the printer (my HP 660Cse) could understand. I thought it was this conversion process, which isn't perfect because the driver (filter?) wasn't written by HP, caused the fact that color print quality isn't as high under Linux as it is under Windoze. Would a printer with Postscript built in print the same under either platform? Again, do you still need a driver? Thanks for any enlightenment :) Matt P.S. Is there some good documentation that describes the printing process under Linux/Unix in detail? M -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
