Is there a way I can tie a debian box into a Novell
network, short of using wine and installing Novell
client? I want to use the debian machine as a gateway
between the local network (in my school's tech ed
room) and the whole-school network, by adding a second
ethernet card to the debian ma

In fact I'm not Novell expert, but in my case everything works ok.
I'v used debian packages for ncpfs.

Hello all!
I can't connect to a Novell network with my Linux. I downloaded the
ncpfs tgz, I made the make command, it compiled successfully. In my
kernel is the IPX support (as a module), I loaded in the ipx.o with the
insmod command, i loaded in the ncpfs.o module too. After these I

Ok. SIOCADDRT is the ioctl call which adds a route. My gu

/etc/init.d/network/start
returns the message
SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
with no other information.

The new^h^h^h machine waiting on my desk when I arrived here was,
as I expected, on the dark side. I've performed the preliminary
exorcisms, but can't get the network going.
This thing is on a novell network, and has an SMC ethernet card with
a dec 21041 chip. The de4x5 module ins
One option is to install Novell-nfs on the Netware server. It includes
lpd. At least that what we do at NYU to enable Windows, Mac and Unix to
print.

Hi all,
so is that possible? How can I print to Novell network printer, where i
put the queues?
NOTE: I work in a environment that includes Win95+dos6.22 as clients,
Win NT and Novell 3.12 as servers ( running a mix of database+ intranet

'Tis true. Do I need Caldera's client for this? I think the basic problem
is below this, though.
I've compiled Olicom's token-ring network card driver into the kernel with
no problems. Bootup gives apparently normal messages in this regard except
a test download failure. I also get an SIOADDR

Uh, that's like asking why you can't talk French on the phone. You can!
You just have to know French.
Ethernet is the communications medium. (i.e. telephone system)
IPX is the communications protocol. (i.e. the language spoken on th

How can I have both ipx and ethernet on the same system?
I have difficulty having ipx configured and enabled without

I tried to follow this through the HOWTOs but I must have gotten lost. I've
installed Debian on the computer at the office (the second place I installed
it), connected to a Novell network with an SMC EtherPower card.
The kernel is 2.0.27 with support compiled in for...
