I have also read the referenced mini-HowTos. Additional info - the Maxtor drive came with a utility called EZ-Drive, which is still active during boot. I have a syslog entry which reads: Partition check: hda: [EZD] [remap 0->1] Do I need to overwrite the first sector to restore the MBR? I can st

I have a 30 GB Maxtor hard drive, with a 15 MB boot partition as the first partition. This is followed by root and swap. Apparently, I have somehow corrupted my partition table, because on boot I get the message NO PT, HIT ANY KEY TO CONTINUE When I do so, Lilo responds with LIL- and hangs. I c
