I have also read the referenced mini-HowTos. Additional info - the Maxtor drive came with a utility called EZ-Drive, which is still active during boot. I have a syslog entry which reads: Partition check: hda: [EZD] [remap 0->1]
Do I need to overwrite the first sector to restore the MBR? I can still boot from floppy, but I'm at a loss as to how to restore my hard drive so I can boot directly from it. Thanks for any help.
