Nagios/MySql config problem

Hi, I have been beating on this for day and could use a pointer.   I have installed current stable  MySql then Nagios and Nagios-mysql on Sarge 3.1   I can connect to http://localhoast/nagios and logon   MySql seems to work and I can connect to it and create users e.g. nagiosadmin
