I am a long time linux user (Slackware on a 1.04 kernel). I've used a
good many distro, compiled many a a kernel. Recently I decided that I
was sick of the old redhat 6.2 installation I've used as a web/file
server for the past couple years (the age of the redhat 6.2 install was
