In pavucontrol configuration I can set digital stereo (HDMI) output to
off but it won't stay off.
Is there some way to configure the program so this is off permanently?
Or alternately to make the analog stereo output from my sound card the
default configuration?

Hello everyone,
I have Debian Jessie with XFCE installed on my Dell inspiron 7537 laptop.
I often connect my laptop with my TV through HDMI.
Each time I have to go to Settings>Display and then select the TV screen
from there. I also have to go to Pulse Audio Volume Control (pavucontrol)
to select

It took me a bit of fiddling to work out why I hadn't got a picture.

Presumably this is because Xorg is not correctly set up to drive the
HDMI output.
Has anyone please got any suggestions on where to look/how to configure
this?

While running the "bad" kernel execute this
reportbug linux-
I don't have the chance to check if the problem is related to the kernel
version or not.
If it is the case, to which package should I report the bug? The kernel one?
P.S. Amazing, it would be my first kernel-bug found :-P

Now I have installed the previous kernel (3.2.0-1) from my apt archive.
I will keep you informed :-)
Only curiosity: if the problem is with the kernel, what con I do to
solve it?
Best regards and thanks!

I suspect this is your problem. Please try the old kernel if still
installed, otherwise you
I have Debian Sid totally updated. It was working a week ago. Since
that, the only upgrade was a new kernel (3.2.0-2). No xorg related updates.

Yes, I'm using Gnome3 (Sid).
No, the Gnome control center doesn't detect the external monitor.
Xrand's output:
$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1366 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
LVDS1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 344mm x 193mm
Are you using a desktop environment, such as GNOME, and if so what
version? In X, can gnome-control-center's "displays" panel detect
your attached monitor? Does it show up in the output of "xrandr"?

Hi!
I'm running Debian Sid on a laptop. I usually connect a external monitor
to the HDMI output of the integrated graphic card (an Intel, if relevant).
When I'm at home, it works fine, but it is not working at work since a week.
When I start with the monitor connected, I c
