Try This edit the Makefile and uncomment the SMP lines make mrproper make menuconfig (select Sound Support with a 'Y') -Select the correct drivers -(If sound blaster set io, irq etc.) -in the 2.0.34 kernel there is a setting to "Use the old sound configuration script--U
