Try This
edit the Makefile and uncomment the SMP lines
make mrproper
make menuconfig (select Sound Support with a 'Y')
-Select the correct drivers
-(If sound blaster set io, irq etc.)
-in the 2.0.34 kernel there is a setting to "Use the old sound
configuration script--USE IT it does something (I dont know
what)
> >make boot
I use make zImage
make modules
> >mv /lib/modules/2.0.34 /lib/modules/2.0.34-old
????
make modules_install
> >mv /boot/vmlinuz /boot/vmlinuz-old
cp zImage /boot/vmlinuz
> >edit lilo.conf to have a backup boot option of the old kernel labeling the
