Hi,
I'm using GNUroot Debian bash on my Anroid phone. While I have been to
install many packages like java, python, ruby, node.js, scala, groovy via
apt-get install and use them to write and run programs, I'm finding
difficulty with extracted rpm files and gcc executables. That is, they come

Check /etc/apt/sources.list on both machines. If you are using the
uchicago mirrors for deb and deb-src, that's why this is happening. You
want to switch to another set of mirrors since uchicago seems to have got
itself corrupted. For a little while I had this problem too but cleared
it up b

do you have the gcc version that is specified in the file name?

Hi guys,
I had the same problem trying to get the helix installer to run on woody.
Since woody uses an older version of GCC you need to download the legacy
version of the installer:
legacy-hxplay-0.4.0.187-linux-2.2-libc6-i386.bin. The same is
I think I may have a corrupted download.

Tux:/home# ./hxplay*

I'll try downloading again in the near future - does anyone have any
better ideas ?

It could be anything, .cue+.bin is a common CD-ROM image format. (S)VCD is
very likely though.

Hi,
I've got a couple of .bin files, which I believe are svcds, aren't they? I
can play them with kplayer, but it is horrible as the sound is skipping. Xine
on the other hand won't play them and reports that it couldn't find a demux?!
Any chance to play these files wit

Hello everyone.
Planning to install debian to a machine at work in a day or two.
Downloaded debian-30r0-i386-binary-1_NONUS.iso from
ftp.fi.debian.org.
Expected to find base-*.bin files in
/debian/dists/woody/main/disks-i386/current/images-1.44.
They were not.
Just wondering whether this

s. There is no single set of files which are found
under /bin in all systems -- this is a function of the packages you have
installed.
I passed you a list of packages which contribute files found in /bin on
my system. You can find a similar list under /var/lib/dpkg which by
your reports has not

At least in woody there is:
$ apt-cache show cdrdao
Package: cdrdao
Priority: extra
Section: otherosfs
Installed-Size: 1656
Maintaine
Try cdrdao.
http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/
I don't think there's a debian package of it yet.

Hello
I got a couple of pdf files as a .cue and .bin file which are supposed to
be burn with the CDRWIN programm under windows. Does anybody know how I
can burn them under Linux? Or is this a proprietary format thats only
writable by cdrwin?

Hi,
Is there any way to merge (cat) all the .bin files of the floppy
distribution to a file?
Well, cat can be used, but is it the way how to do it?
If it isn't, can each .bin be mounted using -loop option? What is the
filesystem on the image file?
Oki
try this:
dpkg -S /usr/bin
it spitsout a screenfull of packages for that dir.
never tried that before, that rules dpkg can do that.

Ouch! Accidentally did rm *?
You pretty much have to re-install everything, though there *might* be a
way to make dpkg check and re-install packages that don't check out
properly (I know RPM did it). Don't know how, though.

Hi, is there an easy way to reinstall the contents of /usr/bin from

Where can I get the program (dos mode) that encodes files to the .bin
format.
