In a nutshell - yes, yes, and yes...
However, I only realised the error when I logged into my headless
server terminal where I use an 'admin' user account rather than root
for admin as I did on my laptop - thus, on my laptop I was never
confronted with a failed terminal login
of the install
process).
I guess, there's something not referenced in the initramfs?
Any pointers to a way back from Armageddon would be great :)

Windows, binary and it asked for a C compiler. Where do I get,

kernel source setup so your gunna want to skip point 1. on that page and find

debian? I notice there's a module for it included with the iptables
package:
bollo:~# dlocate TARPIT
iptables: /lib/iptables/libipt_TARPIT.so
but getting it to work isn't that simple:

one of these ways, or some other way? I think I prefer #2, if that's
possible. Although if HTTP will work, I can do that pretty easily.
