Peter,
thanks, I actually did use that guide to do the set-up, and it was
very helpful. the problem I have is how do I move from having either
a RAID0 or RAID1 to having BOTH.
I have the four disks broken up into two RAID0 arrays of two disks
each. what I want to do now is have the two RAID0 disks be
'mirrored' to each other - i.e. RAID1
when I try to use the "Create MD" It am told that I don't have any
RAID partitions; but I can't set the RAID) partitions to physical
RAID partition either.
so that's where I am stalled out. I have the two RAID0 but can't
figure out how to create a RAID1 out of them.

Hello Morgan,
Have a look at the link below its should be of help setting up a
software
raid1. If you are using lvm as well at the beging of the expert
install, pick
the mdcfg module and the lvmcfg module.
