G3 at home. The install went fine, but when it was all over and I was

What I ended up doing was taking a Gentoo LiveCD I had laying around,
booting off of that, setting hda3 to a mount point under the gentoo
system, configuring sshd (with some help from others) to allow

I'm in a slightly frustrating situation due, primarily, to two things: my
relative amateur use of Linux, and this particular problem happening on a
Debian Linux box that I didn't originally setup. I'm particularly new to
