Thanks Lawrence and Stephen,
I downloaded ircii and it looks better documented than bitchx. I still
don't know how to deal with the scripts, but they look promising and fun,
and I even found a mailing list for ircii.

Sorry about that (), but even if the program itself is damn good, the docs
and /help really suck... further more, #bitchx SUCKS.
I've been desperately trying to get help around, and even went to #bitchx at
irc.chat.org, just to be kicked out every time I try to join it, the reason
being "spammers,

Also, I can run `startx' as a normal user, and even as root, though I can't
run it if I'm logged in as SU, is this normal?
homega:~# startx
bash: startx: command not found
TIA,
Horacio.

You might copy the whole filesystem (or by directories) to a different
location. That depends on whether you have an empty partition where to do
this, or a tape drive like a zip drive.
A straight forward method woul

I know a maximal mount check is a normal system check but, is there any
percentage of non-contiguous files worrying? Last check I had 1.0% on / and
/opt, and 7.3% on /home.

I downloaded pklin251.exe, to be able to work with .zip files.
I moved pklin251.exe to /usr/local and, according to pkware's site:
# chmod 755 pklin251.exe
# ./pklin251.exe
result:

I downloaded bithcx_75-2.deb from slink, and it says it depends on
libncurses4. All I've been able to find has been libncurses4-dbg_4.2-3.deb,
which depends on libncurses4-dev, and libncurses4-dev_4.2-3.deb which in
turn depends libncurses4... what provides libncurses4, or where may I find

Hi,
I just installed WordPerfect8 and tried it as user #1: just an error

as well as to the root's path in .bash_profile; Then I did a su, and tried

Hi,
every time I connect and run `runq -v' to have the queued messages sent, I
receive a *long* log from every message, plus a long time waiting. Prior to
this, the logs used to keep short and mail sent quite fast.
It looks "as if" smail tried to reach every address as if there was no ISP
