I'm having problems with compiling a new kernel 2.0.35 on a Debian 2.0 (2.0.34) machine. I've tried downloading the kernel a couple of times, but after `make config', `make dep', and `make clean', when I do `make bzImage', eventually I get the following error:
In file included from /usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/include/asm/processor.h:11, from /usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/include/linux/sched.h:81,from readdir.c:11: /usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/include/asm/math_emu.h:54: parse error before `<' /usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/include/asm/math_emu.h:55: warning: function declaration isn't a prototype make[2]: *** [readdir.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/fs' make[1]: *** [first_rule] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35/fs' make: *** [linuxsubdirs] Error 2 homega:/usr/src/linux# Please, could you help me with this? Also, the first time I tried to install the latest downloaded sources with `tar zxvf', the system completely stopped and had to press the restart switch (I could switch terminals, but no ^C, nor any other key would work).
