Hello
What you can do is add the following line to your /etc/lilo.conf
append="apm=on" then run /sbin/lilo
After that it should power down when you shutdown your computer.

I do this:
# cd /tmp
# dd bs=1M seek=300 count=0 of=bigfile
# mke2fs bigfile
# mount -o loop bigfile /mnt
# cd /mnt
Then I start to copy a directory tree, that has around 200 MB of files, from
another place into /mnt. Everytime I've tried it just stops after 50 to 100 MB.
The hd isn't working and
I'm using smartlist for some small mailinglists on a Debian machine (I hope
this isn't too offtopic)
Is there a way to configure smartlist NOT to distribute a message to the sender
of the message ? I don't want my own postings.
I've tried to read the manual, but I didn't find any information on
A friend of mine has a RedHat 5.1 machine running at a remote location, and now
he's thinking about installing Debian on it.
Is it possible to do that on remote, without anyone sitting feeding the machine
with a CDROM and telling it how to partition disks and such things ?

, it's hard to find. Any more good documents ?

ion the word feature, I think it should be more aggressive,
showing people that Debian IS a _very good distribution_.
Anyway, if the documents I ask for doesn't exist, I'll try to write them.

I've asked for, and quit. Without taking half a
year listing all availiable packages.
Am I wrong ? Where do I RTFM ?
