Long-time Slackware user here now running Gnome on an new Sid machine.
All is well, but here are two X Window anoyances that I haven't figured
out:
1. GDM fails at boot, dropping into console screen displaying a
curses-based dialogue. This dialogue does not display correctly -- all
the character
