Ok, I am responding to my own e-mail here. Sorry about that, but I
fixed it, and my original message hasn't even hit the group yet.
But check this, because this is the weirdest thing. I'm running sid,
like I said in the previous e-mail. I have a cable modem and have been

Is anyone else having problems with any of their Gnome
apps? If I try to run Galeon, Evolution, or Gabber,
they all just hang. Nothing shows up, no error
messages, nothing.
And if I try to log into a gnome-session, it just
hangs as well.
I'm using sid, so maybe the problem is a new package

Actually, I think you want to use "apt-get install
kernel-source-2.4.18". You are downloading the source to the kernel
source package, which, as you say later, gives you files you don't
need. If you just apt-get install the kernel-source, it wi

Nevermind. It's fixed. It looks like the problem was with the cpp-2.95
package in sid. I had no /lib/cpp file. I just upgraded and it looks
like that file has been put back in.
I guess that is what I get for running unstable :-(

Ok, so I am having some major issues with Window Maker. When I start it
up, it tells me it can't load the Applications Menu, and that I should
check the output in the terminal to see what the problem is.
Unfortunately, I am running wdm, so I don't have a terminal to look at.
So, I stopped wdm,
Has anyone else run into problems typing in user input into Java AWT
programs? Any Text Fields just don't seem to respond at all to keyboard
input. I had this problem when installing RealPlayer, and thought it
was just something wrong with that program in particular. But I just

ozilla builds are
way ahead of NS6, and dont have the extra "crap" like AIM messaging
forced on you.
I would almost recommend boycoutting NS6 releases in favour of the
Mozilla releases ;o)
Bit of a rant. Please take with a few grains of salt. I know NS6 is
bad, but that's because people are looking at the Mozilla project the

ches from http://www.linux-usb.org/
The site has a lot of information you will need to check to get USB
working in the 2.2 kernels.
Other than that, you can try running a 2.4 test kernel, but that isn't
advisable on a critical system.
