In a view days I will be switching from a dialup system to dsl.
What changes and additions do I need to make to my debian system?
Thanks
I have not followed every detail of this tread, but I think there may be
some confusion here about low level and High level formating. Putting a
file system on a disk is the same thing as high level formating. I have
created ext2 file systems on a zip drive. The command (if memory
serves) was "m

Many of my applications say that they are unable to allocate colors in
xwindows. This includes xcolorsel. Yet many apps do have color and I
have used this hardware before without difficulty. So what should I be
looking at to fix this problem?
Thank you

I am very upset by these hook things. I do not understand them. They seem
to be much harder to work with than regular configuration (.*rc) files.
They seem to require that the user know which hook file to edit. There
are several, prethis.hook postthat.hook etc. Some hooks are links to null

I just tried to play a game I have on my system, which is part of the

figure out what that means and how to fix it? Is that a fetchmail or

I have 3.1 installed from floppys. There were some problems with some
of the packages I tried to install. Most of these were caused by modem
errors I think. It was certainly a mistake to try to install so many
packages simultaniously. Anyway I decided to order the 3.1.1 cd and
work from there.
