t that calls useradd. To do a second
script on top of adduser doesn't seem very neat to me. And curiosity is

Hi,
I found that Sarge's new users "adduser xxx" by default aren't on group
"camera" so a friend of mine has been drived nuts before I got their
Kodak working :)
It was the same on woody where I needed to add new user to groups
"audio", etc, in order to get permisions to play Cd's, etc. Now in

Hi all,
Finally I have found that rio cali 128 (the one with red stick) is not a
mass storage device, while rio cali 256 (with black stick) is.
So using rioutil package I'm able to talk to this mp3 USB device.
I have been unable to set an appropiate udev rule, I can't see any
device created on /
Hi,
ATA, Ultra-ATA, SATA... no matter, this is IDE bus speed, the question
being (IMHO) "raid". As you can see on other answers to your question,
and in other threads too, most cheap "hardware raid" controllers (even
SATA) are truly software raid. Only if you card is more than $300 it

One of my boxes is exactly the same. It was running woody, now it's
running sarge (2.4). Worked like a charm with woody & windowmaker. Now
with sarge & windowmaker, I need to wait some minutes (maybe 5?) to
load X. Of course, Firefox
Hi,
(I changed the subject so to find it will be more easy for people
googleing or the like. I hope)
I have no idea about raid 10, but these are the important things I found
about raid on sarge
1) Cheap fake raid cards as Promise (I don't know if this is the case),
etc, don't work on 2.6. You co
On Sarge, I needed to do (24)
modprobe pdcraid
on 2nd console in order to get the ataraid device listed when
partitioning, but then I was not able to install grub or, even if
installed, I was not able to reboot (error 21)
For 2.6, it seems that d-i has not "hardware" raid support at all

Hi,
Is the rio cali able to be mounted as mass storage device? How? After
googleing, I have found reports saying "yes" and "no"
I'm using Sarge with stock 2.6 kernel

Wow. On woody it works _fine_.
So sarge is finally here to kick off my fakeraid card? (purchased as
"true" hardware raid) No very good news. At least I
Hi,
I'm trying to do a fresh sarge install on an Asus A7V mboard, but my
stripping raid (20265) is not working. I see only two separated disks.
I see modules pdc202xx_old & pdc202xx_new on sarge install, both with
2.4 and 2.6 kernels, but I can't get them working :-(
I tried as many things as I
