I plan to deploy Steam on my Debian but I haven't begun to. I remember that on
the Steam website, the website says that the requirement of the Steam app is 'a
xxx version *Ubuntu' system'. They might have hardcoded this in the binary -

Besides, in my memory this kind of default-program setting should be handled by
xdg-open? Maybe checking 'man xdg-open' would suggest the location of the
configuration file.
