Etch, pidgin is still called 'gaim'. It works for me,
but if you have a reason to upgrade, you may just want to recompile the
deb-testing source (or pidgin source from web site) under stable. It should

So applets have dissappeared from your panel? That would be odd. Perhaps as
you upgraded Gnome some applets did not upgrade? Try an apt-cache search for
a specific applet.
Or maybe your config file become mis-formatted? Can you put them b
essages. But I use Kmail with Gmail, so Beagle/Kerry does that, too. I guess
if you just use Gmail web mail this would be helpful. I just don't have the
need.

I think F-spot, the photo manager for Gnome, has this functionality, but I do

of worked. I still do not know why KDM didn't.

that tells it which to use. /etc/gdm/gdm.conf doesn't mention much on
fonts or cursors. I've explored /etc/X11 and found nothing. Can anyone

You'll need to configure it to use whichever gdesklet you want. In
Debian Sarge, you can try both praytime and prayboard.
This will not be quite what you wanted, a way to use your KDE applet in
GNOME. But, hopefully, it will provide you the functionality you wanted.

How exactly did you want it to be set up? Or, did you want to format, as
in *erase*, the data on both partitions?
If the partitions are gone now, run qtparted (apt-get install qtparted)
and select /dev/sdc. Partition it however you want it. QTParted can also
format a partition to whate

will do it. I probably wouldn't have remembered the command 'mkfs' if it
hadn't been for your question, so thank you.

(http://blinkflash.sourceforge.net/) on Sarge? I have the python2.3 and
python2.3-dev packages installed, but this python script keeps returning
errors.

Perhaps you modified the file? try apt-get remove --purge php5 apache2
