Since there are very few specs listed, I will make the assumption that this
is a bare box unit. Perhaps with onboard sound and video. This unit in the
USA should go for about $150. Don't know your currency exchange rate. I an
not a fan of Cellaron processors, but for the lower specs required for
7 or (soon) Debian 8 can perform the same functions,
if not better.
Anyone have experience with Debian in business or have any
recommendations?

I have Verizon as my ISP; of course they don't want or allow the running
of static addressed servers. However they seem to be ignoring most IPV6

Got tired of trying to manage Apache, tried a very broken Chreokee, then

this and most of the ime avoid these issues by watching the bug list report
that pops up prior to installation. I check the bug to see if I want to risk

If the x-server is running you are NOT really too far off. What is in your
current file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 . My guess is that this is a virtual

are about as good as you can get. You should install apache-ssl if you
want to set up a secure server & especially if this is a production
system. That will take care of your mod-ssl issues. Apache2 which is OK
in unstable is MUCH easier to work with.

I did a real dumb thing without thinking. I grabbed a .rpm of glibc
2.3.9 from SuSE, converted it to a .deb with alien and installed it. Of
course I forgot that libc6 is the debian way of handeling this
dependency (see locales; unstable) Yeah it was VERY late.
Any way it broke the entire system.

In one word NO.
Although you can use other applications to enable
apache1.3 or apache-common1.3 you are out of luck, and there are a lot
of them. I am currently trying to get drupal running using this method
but so far just research on how to accomplish this. I will keep you
apprised of any other things that I discover.
