Well, maybe not. Perhaps the packages have been updated to correct the

Put the users who are to bring up a ppp link in the dip group.
As shipped Debian 2.0 has /etc/chatscripts like this:
drwx-- 2 root dip /etc/chatscripts/
This is a known bug -- wrong permissions on /etc/chatscripts/.

boa uses port 80 and wwwoffle uses ports 8080 and 8081 -- all defaults.

What am I missing?
You could use sudo to run pon/poff and other programs that work perfectly
as root. Installing and using sudo seems a lot easier than messing with
all these file permissions.

here was a recent comp.os.linux.announce article regarding "tomsrtbt"
Tom's "UNIX on a floppy" where "rt" stands for root and "bt" stands
for boot. It has an image to copy to a floppy formatted to 1920kb.
There is lots of room and facility for customization
ing then please share it with me. Bye.
This might be interesting (if not considered silly): I run a 3.78
Bogomips AMD 386SX/SLX-25 (mid-1992) with 9M RAM and Debian 1.3, sometimes
with two users (no X). It should qualify well in the low price category.
