Installed Debian 9.9 on it and it ran fine, but it wouldn't install zfs or
glusterfs.
I heard Debian 10.2 had samba, glusterfs, and zfs pre-installed. so I got a
copy.
Now my mouse is buggy, moves painfully slow or jumps across screen, keyboard
often doesn't detect keys

samba-common-bin depends on libncurses5 (>=6), and the jessie version is
5.9+20140913-1+b1

I was using the kernel. For a while. After I upgraded my potato to progeny my
xserver got changed and has been misbehaving for a while. So I would boot and
I would not have access to keyboard; mouse would work. So I had to contantly
power down the machine. I think that some parts of the filesy
what does it mean when you get a crc error after the lilo prompt and the
kernel start uncompressing. It happened with my laptop and I am able to
boot the original kernel bot not the new kernels I had compiled after.

I use apt-localepurge on a couple of systems with small ha
like postfix for example. If I postfix compiled with specific
extensions how do I do that? Is there a good howto on remaking deb
packages, getting sources and all that good source? I would like to be
able to work with the packages in the same what that I would with .gz
packages.

The stock 2.4 kernel doesn't work with lvm-10. The -ac versions work
