Recently, I've been getting what I think are kernel panics on my server
machine, running woody and kernel 2.4.18. The machine does not have a
monitor hooked up to it. How do I go about finding out what is causing
this problem? There's nothing in the log files. Thanks.

I just installed potato onto a new machine, but I am stuck with a 2.2
kernel. On the older machine, I was running Bunk's 2.4 kernels for
potato, but this time, I'd like to stay as "standard" as possible.

I'd like to learn python. I know a bit of C++ as a result of taking a

OK, it's fixed now. I THINK it had something to do with libfam. There
was an incorrect entry pertaining to fam in /etc/inetd.conf. I fixed it
and rebooted and the problem in mozilla/galeon was gone.

I think it's been happening ever since 0.9.6 in SID.

Is anyone else noticing massive mutilation of images with mozilla when
there are several on one page? Go to this website with your mozilla
browser (I'm using the one in SID):

Scroll all the way down.
Do you see stuff like this?

Has anyone else noticed strange rendering behavior in mozilla/galeon?
I've downloaded nightlies and even they have the same problem:

I've spent an embarrasingly long period of time trying to get this to

when will Woody be frozen to the point that new kernels (2.4) can not

I installed some 3rd party packages onto my Sid system with apt-get,
making the necessary entry into sources.list. I would like to remove
all of them. Is there any simple way to do this, or do I have to remove
them one by one?
Thanks,
Greg
I'm administrating a network of Debian potato machines using NIS/NFS at
a small high school right now. We're behind a pretty beefy firewall,
but I still know it's not very secure. I couldn't get LDAP
authentication working and I only had 2 days to do the whole thing.
