Can XF86_SVGA do 1280x1024?

1999-12-17 Thread Fethi Okyar
Hi: I have a 17" that can do 1280x1024 @ 60Hz, and a Matrox Millenium II /w 4 MB. I could do 1280x1024 in windows, but X does not like it. I use 1024x768 which is ok but I need more space. The problem is related with the server isn't it? I don't know why there is no dedicated server for these

don't make it a black box please

out there? The reason I moved to Debian is cause I was thinking I would get more control as to what I would be installing on my machine and all the other configuration issues. I don't want SUPERCLEVER installation engines, I just want to know what is going on!! --

g files instead of having to have them created manually? (I don't know where apt-get keeps its log files if any) Thanks ~~~~ Fethi Okyar Research Assistant Computational Solid Mechanics MMAE Department, IIT Chicago, IL 60616-3793 E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
