try to upgrade with apt I get
error messages saying that it can't connect to WinGate. I have set the
export http_proxy="<http://wingate:80/>" in /etc/profile and root .bashrc
but it seems that I previously made a change in the apt source file. Any
ideas?

Hello.
Is any one here a kernel guru? I posted a problem a couple of times this
week that no one seems to be able to help me with. Is there much difference
in success and error when using xconfig and the other make options? I tried
using xconfig to rebuild my kernel for sound. I'm sure added
x27;m currently
using my original boot floppy.

if I open tkdesk and look at the
file information in my home directory it says that the symlink is broken.
How do I fix this? Is there another tactic I should use? Perhaps a script
that modifies the files at boot and shutdown? That idea seems much more
involved and more prone to error.

To manually install a package use:
dpkg -i package_name.deb
from the directory where you have all deb files. Then run dselect again and
it should work.

long file names? When I try to view a file with spaces (i.e. My
Resume.txt) Linux seems to treat these as seperate files. How do I
correctly specify a valid long file name?
