Hi, All,
I tried to back up my home directory today for the first time in

one yesterday). I used the same command which I always do:
tar -cPvzf /zip/cdj.tgz --exclude-from=.tar_exclude .

Hi, All,
I'm running potato here at work. The stock kernel-image 2.2.10
works fine and prints properly. I compiled a custom kernel in order to
use the soundcard. Sound now works but printing doesn't. (I did select
printing support when running make xconfig). On booting I get this

Hi, all,
I'm having a problem getting X running on my home system. It's a
relatively new sytem with a SiS 530 (onboard Sis 6326AGP), running slink.
The version of X is 3.3.3.1-2 (Xserver-SVGA), the Xserver started,

Hi,
I have a debian system here at work which I just upgraded to slink.
We recently purchased an ATAPI CD-RW (Phillips PCA362) and I'd like to
record some CD's. I have a few questions on how to proceed (I've never
used a CD writer before).
Which kernel should I use? (I'm currently
