to successfully install Knoppix 5.0 on another sector, so I'm
guessing there may be a way to fix this, but my skill levels are far
away from the level of being able to diagnose it. Any suggestions would
be deeply appreciated.

checked on another computer of mine which I apt-upgrade frequently, this
problem also appeared, but when I checked on yet another computer that I
don't often upgrade it was OK. I suspect there is a broken part in the
present version of KDE-Debian. Any ideas?

I don't know if this was resolved already...
I have Debian3 rc2. After installing from the CD, the command uname -r shows
a 2.2 kernel. I want to use a 2.4 kernel for USB and IPTables support. I

"nopcmcia", "noA7xxx...", and just about every other option that I thought
might conceivably be related, to no avail.

March, but AFAICT, none of the threads ends up with a solution to the
problem. It was suggested in one thread that I add
append="noacip"
to my lilo.conf, but this does not do the trick. Has anyone heard of
a fix for this?
