Hi,
I am trying to install Debian 6.0 on a rather "old" laptop Latitude D810.
However it hangs when detecting network hardware using the graphical
installer.
On the same machine I was able to boot Fedora 17 without problems.
I have tried also connecting an ethernet cable but it also hangs.
Perhaps, try with this:
for MAGFILE in `ls $MAGDIR/*.[Zz][Ii][Pp]`; do

Hi!
try it with md5sum:
$ md5sum debian-505-powerpc-netinst.iso
$ dd /dev/cdrom bs=$blocksize count=$blockcount conv=notrunc,noerror |
md5sum
The variable, $blocksize, $bolkcount, depend of the CD or DVD, to
get this info:
$ isoinfo -d -i /dev/cdrom
the result must be the same.

Hello,
After many years using FreeBSD, Im now moving my gateways to debian, and I
stuck with a simple lazy thing ... How do I clean arp table on debian?
On FreeBSD I can just do an "arp -ad", but on debian I didnt found how to do
that and google didnt helped me.
Thanks

need to do 'modprobe usb-storage'
I'm going to try this myself later.
I hope that helps

With my computer, when it is turned on, there will be a loud whirring noise
during the BIOS loading and when Windows starts loading. But when i get to the
login screen for Windows, the whirring stops. While running linux (Debian, Red
Hat, Suse, Knoppic, etc), however, the whirring never stops

Takao Kitame seemed to be stopped posting his Nautilus .deb files. Does anybody
knows where I can get Nautilus and related files .debs?
I'm not on debian-user, so please reply directly to me.

Right now the only way I know to do this is to manually repeat all the
steps on machine (b). Is there a way to create a "machine (a) task" or
something similar?
Thanks!

Hi,
I got that error and found that there is a problem between debconf and the
lynx package. When the debconf priority is set to high, the installation
script breaks. Set debconf priority to low, answer the
installation questions and everything should be allright.

Should I try to configure it by hand?
Should I use the XSuse X Server?

at there could be some dependencies problems with gtk, imlib and
gdk-imlib if you have the corresponding debian packages installed on your
system.
BTW my system is a hamm one. Maybe you will have problems with a bo install due
the libc6 dependencies.
Hope it helps.

Also the configuration of tetex-base will complain about a non-defined
VARTEXFONTS variable. You may define it befor the dpkg with a

Search for it in ftpsearch. If you don't find it I'll give some addresses.
But yes, it would be a good thing to have a debain package with the static
