Lilo boot from second drive - success

Thanks to everyone who chipped in on this, a fix has been found. The problem is really that of getting LILO to boot the slave drive, which BIOS has found to be the first as the removable master is not present! Solution is (in /etc/lilo.conf): disk=/dev/hdb bios=0x80 Works a treat! Bruce Ward

Newbie with modem installation problems

Have been trying unsuccessfully to configure my ADSL connection with a Speedtouch Home modem, connected through an SMC USB connector. It is all working fime in Win 98 and some trial installations I did with red Hat and Mandrake both detected and set up the modem correctly. I would rather use Debian
