I looked at the various machines again, and realized that the machine on
which WP Office always crashes is the one running XFree86 4.2 (my video card
(Trident Cyberblade XP) is not supported in 4.1); the other two are using
XFree86 4.1. There may be some other subtlties in configuration I can't

I tried changing the fontpath, but it made no difference; same crash. I also
tried some of the other fixes (designed for Caldera) on the link you
provided; also no change. And yes, I had already been purging the .wpo2000/
and .wpo2000rc folder/file from /~ after each crash. I even did a complete

Not unless it was added by the WPO 2000 installation.
I am running Debian Woody (with a sprinkling of sid), w. XFree86 4.2, KE
3.0.3, and am trying to get Wordperfect Office 2000 Deluxe for Linux
working. Whenvever I try to start one of the office apps (wordperfect,
quattropro, etc.), I get the following errors:
I have Debian 3.0 installed on an HP Pavillion N5425 laptop, and after
considerable modifications it is (mostly) working.
Often, however, it seems that I "fix one thing, break two others".
I have two current problems, one of which is probably in the documentation
somewhere but I just can't find

I did a network (ftp) install directly to Woody, with no problems. Just
follow the instructions at http://cdimage.debian.org/ch11.html, but
substitute

instead of
/dists/stable/main/disks-/
to obtain the boot disks. The file install.bat should be

I have a HP Omnibook 500 with Debian installed (started out as a potato box,
though had a few packages directly from sid, including KDE 2.2beta, with
corresponding library upgrades. Please, no finger-wagging about the
inappropriateness of mixing stable & unstable packages; I know). The library

All assume an external DSL modem.
Note that some DSL modems (notably the Nortel and Alcatel) support more than
