I tried changing the fontpath, but it made no difference; same crash. I also
tried some of the other fixes (designed for Caldera) on the link you
provided; also no change. And yes, I had already been purging the .wpo2000/
and .wpo2000rc folder/file from /~ after each crash. I even did a complete
apt-get purge of all the WPO debs, and deleted any stray folders caused by
the installation, before reinstalling. No difference.

At first I thought this was a wine issue, but that seems to be less likely,
as the same problem comes with whatever version of wine I use (corelwine
shipped with WPO2000; corelwine-cvs someone posted somewhere, current
version of wine in sid...).

It doesn't seem to be a general problem with Woody, though, as I tried the
install on two other Debian 3.0 machines; one, all WPO apps seem to run
fine. Another, Quattro Pro runs, but Wordperfect quietly (no errors) fails
to start. These three machines are more or less the same from a software
point of view (though entirely different hardware), with some variation in
the apps installed, i.e., they are all originally Woody boxes, with some
sarge/sid/unofficial stuff installed, and each with a custom kernel.

I guess that there must be some other library installed on my system that
Wordperfect can't deal with. Is there some way to find out specifically what
is causing the crash?? Or is this clear in the error message I posted
earlier, and I am just too dense to see it??

Thanks for your suggestions,

Bruce
