I'm running Etch amd64 and this is my first box without a floppy drive.
On previous boxes I've used Woody's boot floppies and some extra
utilities disks I've made to cobble together a text-mode rescue setup on
a ram disk.
Of course this won't work with my new box: SATA drives, LVM on raid1,
etc.
Also, any decent Bayesian filter, or indeed any filter will not be thwarted
or totally thrown off by one reply to spam, or (in the long run) a whole
bunch of them. Anyone who disagrees with this doesn't understand the
concept of Bayes' Theorem and how it is practically applied.

was using apt-get only with cds, as I didnt have internet.
I copied the sources.ist posted in this list from internet somewhere, i
changed all the mirrors fro us to de (germany) and it worked well for
me, except the debian

archives from a Windows partition -> Evolution under Debian - Testing.
This will make his wife and his world Windows free for the most part :)

go and research the .xinitrc file and see if that is going to work
properly with fluxbox so I can get rid of GDM and just launch a single
app on boot up...sort of a Kiosk type setup for a LiveCD project wh

I have setup for static ip address, NOT dhcp. The outside word sees the
static ip address, and inside on the NAT, each machine is 192.168.0.x.
In KDE, System -> Networking, I set up the ip address, subnet mask,
gateway address, DNS
How do I find out how much bandwidth is being used by a particular
application? I want to see what skype does if it is left signed on on my
Debian Testing box.

distribution. So I'm loading everything into the initrd. I knew I'd need the
associated libraries, but I have been running into some troubles. I thought
